  3. Qualification Matches

All,

The entry period has now closed. In total there are 41 players, a much better turn-out than I originally expected! As per the rules, in order to get the main tournament bracket down to 32 players there will be a qualification round involving the bottom 18 seeds. The qualification matches will be as follows:

@dsotr (24) v @EzrealMechanics (41)

@DanDan2016 (25) v @animusartifex (40)

@strategoo (26) v @xadrez_pt (39)

@Duubik (27) v @FischyVishy (38)

@nwiluex (28) v @DeEpAk111 (37)

@brahm (29) v @I0euros (36)

@Iubar (30) v @apostador (35)

@MessyAnswer (31) v @kclee2172 (34)

@daugava (32) v @Kristal (33)

Players may begin negotiating times and begin their matches as soon as they like. Please see the rules if in any confusion about how this should be done: sites.google.com/site/atomicchesswc/rules
The playing time should be at least agreed upon by Sunday 18th September at the latest. Please offer your opponent at least 3 distinct options of when to play.
All matches should be completed by Sunday 25th September at the latest.

If you are not listed above then you have been seeded directly into the main bracket. The main bracket will be published when these matches have been completed.

Good luck everyone!

What time control should the matches be? I looked on the site, but couldn't find it.

@Go-For-The-Best
The matches are 10 games with a time control of 3 2. See knockout tournament rule #4.

Oh wow, I'm last seed. You all about to see some crazy upsets!

I should also have said that the results are being updated as soon as I get them here: sites.google.com/site/atomicchesswc/matches/qualification-round

2 of the 9 matches have been played so far, with wins for Duubik and nwiluex.
